Many people think that a laptop is better than a conventional computer especially as it takes up less space. We would like to caution would be clients that a laptop is usually less reliable than a desk top computer, and is more liable to damage. Servicing a laptop is a lot more expensive as it takes some 40 minutes just to open up the case and a similar time to close it, before any consideration is made regarding repair times. Many laptops can be permanently damaged by dropping them on a hard surface, although we tend to supply Lenovo/IBM laptops which have protected screens and hard drives and are tougher than most. Most laptops are more expensive than a good desk top PC. Laptops are however very good for those who needs to take their computers away from the office or home and we would be most happy to advise.
